AMERICAN BALD EAGLE ~ Ready for paint
I missed seeing the Eagle before Bart started painting but, happily, he took these photos for the record.
It shouldn't be long now before I post the finished piece as he's quite far along in the paint process.

While you were away...
Summer is a busy time but in between summer travels, the bald eagle is beginning to take shape.
I finally had an opportunity to ask Bart about the dimensions of the piece -- so here's the story:
A bald eagle is typically between 32" and 40" in length.
This half-scale carving will be about 18" long and will take six-months to complete.
The dimensions of the initial block of wood were 8"x8"x19".
Bart is away until early September but stay tuned in mid-September for a photo update.
I will be in the area then and see the piece in person for the first time.
