Male/Drake:

Distinguished by white bill markings, a white triangular shaped wedge by the front folded wing, and iridescent black head and upper parts. This duck's named is derived from the faint chestnut ring around the base of its neck, which is only visible on close viewing.

A New Home for the Cinnamon Teal

I am excited to announce that Bart sold the Cinnamon Teal Duck. It now resides in a lovely new home where it is highly valued and appreciated, making both the carver and the new owner very happy.

First steps. Unfortunately, the original wood block was not cut high enough to accommodate the upper feathers atop the body. Bart will have to carve and add inserts for those two tufts very soon. He needs those reference points in determining the layout of the lower feathers.
